Hunting in Tajikistan is carried out in the Pamir Mountains at an altitude of 4000 to 4800 meters. The harsh conditions of the highlands are characterized by thin air and temperatures from +20 to -20 degrees Celsius, depending on the season. Each hunter is required to have good physical fitness and good health; you must have a first aid kit with you, as hunters often suffer from mountain sickness, but high-quality service, a high number of animals, as well as experienced guides allow people of different age categories and health conditions to hunt. The first couple of days will require adaptation, because when you wake up, get dressed, wash your face, go to the kitchen, and you’re short of breath, it’s like you’ve already run a couple of kilometers. Due to lack of air, hunting is always very difficult, since it is very difficult to walk, and you feel weak, but in the hunting camp there is a pool with a spring, after the hunt you sit in it for 10 minutes and all fatigue goes away.
Method of hunting: from the base camp, the hunter, guide and driver go hunting early in the morning on jeeps and inspect the mountain pastures. If a herd of animals is noticed, then with the help of a powerful telescope it is determined whether there is a large male among them. When a good trophy is discovered, the approach to it begins. In Tajikistan you can get Marco Polo and Matison rams, Markhurs, ibex and wolves.
